PALAPPAM
Ingredients
Basumathi Rice-2 cup
Grated Coconut -1cup
Yeast-1/2tsp
Sugar -3tsp
Boiled Rice-1/2cup
Method
Soak the Basumathi Rice for at least 5 hours …
Then in a bleander grind all the ingredients together with water leveled to the top of the ingredients and make fine batter…
Keep that aside for 4-5 hours
Now its ready to use ..
Take an Appam kadai,heat well and pour one serving spoon of batter and rotate the kadai in a circular motion so that the batter spead along the kadai.
Then close it with the lid and cook..
When done slowly remove it from the sides
Serve the appam with egg roast or potato stew…

Basically my hometown is near to Trivandrum, now i’m in USA…as software Engineer…with my hubby & one year old baby Boy .
i tried most of ur recipes it came very well……thanks..
can u please clear my doubt, in the Palappam, u have mentioned that rice half cup…, which rice i have to use, either boiled rice or raw rice…
